Thoughts & Inspiration

Well here we are in Nicaragua – not even a week yet and it is almost hard to imagine life back in the States.  I love these people.

Days here are so relaxed.  Very “go with the flow.”  Hard to imagine, right? It is wonderful just to let God lead and not worry about meetings and deadlines and schedules and restrictions.  And it’s beautiful, too!  God displays His glory throughout creation, and I am so blessed to be waking up to this every single morning for the next month.

People here see more miracles than most Americans hear of in a lifetime.  I’ve heard stories of people being raised from the dead and I’ve seen a faith stronger than words can describe.  God is alive in Nicaragua.

Despite this, I’ve seen emptiness and loss, legalism and guilt.  I see a people hungry for love and starving for relationship.  These people I love.  They’ve become my sisters and brothers – my family.  They have captured my heart and I covet every moment we spend together.  One month just doesn’t seem long enough.

Pray for God’s continual leadership and guidance in our lives.  Pray that we become more and more dependent on Him.  Pray for opportunities, connections, and divine appointments.  Pray for the Nicaraguans, that they might see in us God’s genuine love.  Pray that they would understand what REAL relationship is and that they would hunger for the King more every day.

I miss you all so much, and you are in my prayers constantly.

With all my heart,
Rebekah
